Having been involved in making money on the Internet for some time
now, I can suggest a number of tried and true ways to make money
online. Here are just three (3) of what I consider to be the best
money making ideas for someone who wants to make money online from
home.
1. Promoting other people's products and services
Promoting other people's (or other companies') products and services
in return for a commission on the sale is known as affiliate
marketing. This can be a great way to make money online because you
don't necessarily need much capital to get started.
For example, even though you'll be selling online, you don't strictly
need a website. You can actually advertise a given company's product
or service, allow people to click on your "affiliate link" (a special
coded link that refers people to the company's website) and take your
commission when someone buys the company's product or service.
Alternatively, another great way to make money online as an affiliate
is to set up a site that looks much like a store. You might have lists
of various products and/or services in a given niche, but instead of
processing orders each time someone goes to buy, they actually click
on a link that leads them to the merchant's website.
Yet another way of making money as an affiliate is to have a "review"
site. This is where you publish reviews - and may even rank - a group
of affiliate products related to a particular niche. However, each
review includes an affiliate link, which means that if someone click
on the link they'll end up on the merchant's site and may buy... which
is where you make money.
2. Running an "Adsense" site
Another of the various ways to make money online is to run an
"Adsense" site. Google Adsense is Google's pay-per-click advertising
network. In what has turned out to be a brilliant money making
strategy for both Google and thousands of website owners, Google
allows websites to publish ads from its Adsense network. And when
someone clicks on one of those ads... the website owner gets a few
cents or dollars, depending on how much that click is worth.
Running an Adsense site is really just a variant of affiliate
marketing - however, in this case the way you make money online is
when someone clicks on your link. You don't have to wait for someone
to actually buy the product. (Having said that, various affiliate
programs also feature pay-per-click too). The trick is to have content
that attracts visitors to your website, but isn't so compelling that
they don't click on one of the Adsense ads!
3. Selling information products
Finally, a great way to make money from home - and one of the best
ways to make money online - is to sell your own information products.
Despite what some people say, you don't need to be an expert to sell
an ebook (or other information product) that teaches someone how to do
something. If you don't have the expertise yourself, you can do a
joint venture with someone who is an expert, or even hire someone to
find the requisite knowledge, and package it into an information
product.
On the other hand, if you are an expert, but lack writing skills, you
can hire a ghost writer to translate what's in your head into an ebook
or book. Or you can have someone interview you and turn the interview
into a product. Or you can product a video... In fact the options are
endless!
One of the big attractions of information products as one of the best
ways to make money online is their high profit margin. You can also
recruit your own affiliates to sell these information products for
you.
