With the economy looking a bit shaky, and job security no longer a
given, more and more people are looking for ways to make extra income
from home. The good news is that I'm about to reveal several extra
income ideas. Ideally, if you implement each one, you'll not only be
able to earn extra income, but also have multiple income streams.
1. Start an ebay business
One of my favorite recommendations for people who want to make extra
income from home is to start an ebay business. Ebay.com is the popular
online auction site where you can buy and sell all kinds of goods and,
increasingly, services. While it started out being predominately for
selling second-hand goods that people no longer wanted... it's now a
thriving market place for full-time businesses! And while I say "ebay
business" don't be misled - there are also other online auction sites
where you can sell things too.
The essence of an ebay business is really like any business: it
involves selling goods at a profit. These may be things in your own
possession... but more likely it's goods that there is a consistent
demand for, and that you can get more cheaply than the price at which
you sell them on ebay.
2. Offer freelance services
Another way to make extra income from home is to offer freelance
services. Are you an accomplished designer or writer? Are you willing
to do administrative tasks for people? Increasingly, whatever skills
you possess, some company will want you to do work for them. Visit the
major freelance sites like elance and rent-a-coder and you'll see
numerous posts issued by companies looking for workers.
Interestingly, these sites function like "reverse ebays". Companies
will post a job they want done and invite people to bid for the job.
This time, to get your bid accepted - and to get the job - you want to
avoid bidding too high, while still having your price reflect the
value of your work.
3. Consider investing
A third way to earn income from home is to invest. Investing often
doesn't make the list of people's extra income ideas and yet it's one
of the least time consuming and most profitable way to earn income
from home. Of course, you need to decide what to invest in - stocks,
property, financial derivatives? - and learn the strategies and
tactics involved in making (and not losing) money. But if you want to
make extra income from home without actually operating a business or
performing services, investing is one of the very best extra income
ideas. It certainly lends itself to the whole idea of having multiple
income streams.
Of course, you may be able to do all three of the above on top of your
existing job or commitments - now that's definitely consistent with
the principle of multiple income streams! On the other hand, one of
these options may become so successful that you're able to ditch the
full time job for good.
